Latest News: Already considering “trying to do something new from past years” at Milano-Sanremo 2025, Tadej Pogacar….

When Tadej Pogacar sets his mind to something, he usually succeeds in his endeavor. However, Milano-Sanremo has been elusive thus far in his career. The Slovenian is therefore willing to attempt something new in 2025. With finishes of fifth in 2022, fourth in 2023, and third earlier this year behind Michael Matthews and Jasper Philipsen, Pogacar has been steadily approaching the win since placing 12th in 2020. The leader of UAE Team Emirates has consistently placed all of his money on a potentially game-changing attack on the Poggio during these Milano-Sanremo matches. However, Pogacar acknowledges that he might need to change things up because this approach hasn’t produced any noticeable results.

“I have always liked to look at the heart of things. That is why I think I like to race like this, to race instinctively to increase the number of options available to win a race. My way of interpreting challenges leads me to dream of winning Milano-Sanremo in particular,” the 26-year-old explains via La Gazzetta dello Sport. “There will always be someone faster than me there, but I know I can try to attack in some way. I am already thinking about how I will race, to do something different from previous years. In 2025, it will be a challenge, but I will try to win.”

So if not a Poggio attack, what can we expect from Pogacar at Milano-Sanremo in 2025? Well, whilst he obviously didn’t fully open the doors to his secret plan for success, it can easily be theorized that maybe the UAE Team Emirates leader will go and go hard, from the Cipressa. If there is one thing that Pogacar’s astonishing 2024 season has proven more than anything else, it’s that the Slovenian superstar is not afraid of a long-range solo attack.
